Pakistan’s
economy is a very important matter and vast subject. It’s difficult to explain
all in a small post. We’ve tried to describe some important points. He also
guides the government about how they should take steps for prosperity. Through
CPEC routes, he is trying to find ways to get more benefits. Our electricity generation is based on
imported oil or fuel. Pakistan has small gas and oil resources we depend on
imports to fulfill the requirements or national demands but this is not a big
issue for him. His government is focused on energy resources, new research in
countries and it is cheaper as compared to fossil fuel energy generation. He
wants to implement a more advanced and proper infrastructure to produce the
solar energy and wind generation equipment on a large scale to meet the
challenges and fulfill the requirements like electricity needs of the generation.
He says that Pakistan has talent and potential for enhancing export to western
countries. For example, export of furniture to the Europe and US.
While
comparing the cost of electricity and newly generated electricity, we forget
the impact of fossil fuel’s import that affects our reserves. If oil prices
increases in the international market then our reserves start decreasing and
debt inflatables at huge level. It means the devaluation of Pakistani currency,
banks to increase the interest rate to the rupee that increases the financing
costs for industrial ventures and new investments in Pakistan. This devaluation
has different side effects like appreciation of foreign debts &
depreciation of assets as foreigners don’t invest due to uncertain climate.
Unlike previous government, they’ve changed the policy for electricity.
They
have signed an agreement with different countries like China for boost the
export in all sectors such as textiles or garments, industrial goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, sports items, furniture, and many other items. They’ve
highlighted that the main problem is the latest technology for producing better
things. They believe we should work with large groups as partners. PM Imran
Khan has taken a personal interest in this sector. He did a partnership with
Turkish, Chinese, and European countries.
It will increase the levels of
exports as we will provide electricity at an affordable rate. He said once, he
is committed to facing all challenges. Pakistan’s export will increase to USD
36 billion in the next 5 years. Many Canadians want to invest in Pakistan in
this sector. Pakistan- Canada has signed export or a trade agreement with an
increase of export by USD 1.5 billion. Similarly, we have signed an agreement
with other countries under his supervision.
