seedless Kinoow, export from Pakistan, harvesting, handling process, processing
of fruit, and references.
The
Kinnow fruit is orange and large with twelve to twenty-five seeds in a round
shape. This crop matures in Jab or Feb. Its citrus fruit (easy peel) has
assumed economic value and demand for export is increasing because it is the very
juicy, soft, and special flavor. It is rich with vitamin C. Due to all this
point it is very popular in the world and its marketing is easy, it has an
excellent taste and aroma. Its tree is extremely very productive. It is common
to have 1000 fruits/tree. Its export gives high returns and you can obtain the best
crop by following some strategies and proper cultivation methods.
Seeds
of Kinnow fruits are more than remaining types of citrus fruits. This high
content of the seed is a hindrance in eating. According to a survey, some employees
want to choose seedless kinnows. The seeds of Kinnow are diploid-2 or
tetraploid-4. Another seedless triploid
variety is developed however; there are different testing methods to check the
health value. Pakistani Kinnow is in demand in an international market due to
uniqueness in taste. They demand seedless Kinnow. About 62% of world exports of
Citrus export are seedless varieties.
Kinnow Export from Pakistan Report |
Some
main export markets are Malaysia, Indonesia, Netherlands, Singapore,
Afghanistan, Vietnam, and the UK. Now handling and harvesting of Kinnow start if
its external color turns to orange (Nov to Feb). The best time is counted when
acid or TSS ratio is 12:1 – 14:2. You can judge the quality of fruits. A sharp
clipper is used to clip the stem during the harvesting of fruit. They try to
cut the stem as short as they cut the fruit without damaging it then it is
packed and exported. If you want to increase its shelf-like then coating is
done on it. It’s saved in a cold atmosphere on the temperature of 4 to 5 degree
centigrade and humidity of (85 to 90 percent). The best quality of Kinnow
(smooth-skin, soft and deep orange) is packed and stored to export. We can
judge better with the help of our hands.
